📚 Te Pae Kōrero — the shelf of sources

Every name on this map carries its source. These are the rooms the kōrero lives in — named, dated, linked. All stories are the story; where accounts differ, they sit side by side and the reader holds the weaving.

The law of this eye — kaitiakitanga

· What is mapped here is public Crown data with named sources and dates.
· What is not mapped: wāhi tapu, urupā, and any knowledge that is not ours to publish. Those layers exist only when an iwi seats them here itself, under its own lock.
· Technical authority and Māori cultural authority are not the same thing. The Gazetteer is the Crown's record of names — the iwi hold the names' lives.
· This tool exists to make the proof of concept before the permission hui — we go to the iwi with something to show, not something taken.
· Every still and every flight recording you make here downloads to your device only. Nothing leaves.

Seat the LINZ key

The World eye and Open chart bases work right now, no key. The sharp one — LINZ aerial at 5cm, the Crown's own survey — streams free under open licence but asks for a key. Two minutes at basemaps.linz.govt.nz → APIs. Paste it here once; it stays on this device.
